Pretty in Pink

Kathryn got a scarf and matching hat from her grammy and she just loved it as it was soft and PINK! She decided that it was time to put on a dance for me in the office....so here she is striking a pose!
She even managed to get daddy to try it on and he was a good sport and let me take a picture...pink is not his color (and I do not think that he knew that I would end up posting it shhhh)

Gentlemen start your engines.....

Well it was time for the annual Pinewood Derby and Alex decided that he wanted to make a Fire Engine....so with the help from daddy he ended up with a fire truck only to find out that we had no red paint and no time to go get some, so it was painted some Army color that Wayne had on hand for his model building.

They have the owners of the racing cars sit in chairs at the end of the track so that they can get a good view of the race.
Kymberly was having a hard time sitting still during the race, especially when I had to get up to take pictures....so here she is sitting with daddy making faces to me on the other side of the track.
Alex's Fire Truck has stacks of washers screwed on top for the weight and so he says that they are the hose coils and he used his number stickers for the head lights...needless to say he really was the winner of the most unusual car!

Cookie Monster...Fairy.....Puppy!!!

Kymberly was lucky enough to end up with two costumes and she was just so cute in both that we decided to let her be both. She started the day off as out little Cookie Monster and by lunch was really good at pointing at the cookies on the front and saying "ookie"Kathryn wanted to be a fairy after having attended a fairy birthday party. She told me that I needed to take her picture with her standing just like this! I guess that fairies stand like this everyday....all day! She was just so cute!
Kymberly ended up the day as a cute puppy for our ward trunk or treat party. She was tired so this was the best picture that she would give me.

Alex for Halloween

Alex tells me that he wants to be a headless horseman so after consultation with some other great minds we finally figure out how to make that happen. Alex reminds me the morning of the 31st that "Mom I have to have a horse" so I manage to find a horse that he can wear yet he tells me that the horse is too cute. He let me take a picture with it, yet I was susposed to delete it.
Then had to take a picture of him WITHOUT the cute horse.
This is how we made it so he could see behind it all. It was black spider web lace that we used to make the V neck on the outfit. He could not give up the vampire teeth sucker while I was taking the pictures....I told him that it looked like a binky
The idea to use cardboard to made the sholders for the horseman was an AWESOME idea and we found the best cardboard thanks to Grandpa Michael!
Luckily even though it was too cute for the headless horseman Kymberly thinks that it is the bestest thing ever and loves to wear it and dance with it.

Soccer Fun

Kymberly was playing with one of the soccer balls and the coaches youngest daughter decided that she did not want her to play anymore and so took it away. Kymberly is actually pretty good at dribbling the ball....not so good and remembering that you do not use your hands in soccer. I guess that we have a little while to work on that one though.
Alex is warming up for a game in this one. Often I would forget to take a picture during the game as I was having to make sure that Kymberly was staying off the field as she wants to be right out there with the big kids and play not just watch.

Kathryn loved finally being able to be old enough to play soccer this year. She did take a hit to the stomach once this season and came to the side lines to cry and was telling me that she was going to wait a little while and then go back in the game. I told her that there were only about 2 minutes left in the game if she wanted to play. The tears quickly dried up and out she went. I think that she was overly stressed about running correctly as she had heard Alex's coach talk about running on the "balls" of your feet and so I often would watch her run with such a look of concentration while she was way behind the rest of the kids. Yet I think that she had fun and I know that she loved getting the medal at the end of the season.

Cub Scout Alex

Alex had do help prepare and cook an outdoor meal for Cub Scouts. With a little encouragement from me we decided to do tin foil dinners. We borrowed the portable fire pit from Grandpa Bud and so we were able to just sit out and enjoy end evening while we waited for it to cook. Alex loved this picture of the "arrow" flame.
Kathryn just being cute!
Alex and Kathryn watching the flames and the steam coming out of the dinners.
Parker our neighbors son came by to show us the nights catch from the pond. They would have thrown the smaller one back but the silly fish swallowed the hook. Wayne and Alex with the help of Kathryn looking on check to see if they are FINALLY done...
